Welcome to the Adoption-Sensitive Clinical Care Project!
Funded as a cooperative agreement under the Hospital-Based Adoption-Sensitive Care Training notice of funding opportunity (NOFO), the National Council For Adoption (NCFA), Spaulding for Children (SFC), the Adoption and Foster Care Clinic (AFCC), and the University of Washington School of Social Work (UW) will develop and implement the Adoption-Sensitive Clinical Care (ASCC) project.
The ASCC will improve access to training and technical assistance (T/TA) on adoption-sensitive care by updating the Understanding Infant Adoption curriculum to version 7 (UIA-7), providing train the trainer sessions and develop online courses based on UIA-7. Training and technical assistance (T/TA) will be targeted for hospital-based service providers, doctors, nurses, and staff who provide pregnancy or adoption information and referrals.
The UIA-7 will continue to ensure compliance with the Infant Adoption Awareness Training Program (IAATP) best-practice guidelines. The UIA-7 curriculum will help ensure that expectant parents who wish to place a child for adoption have access to appropriately trained staff and comprehensive supports throughout the adoption process.
