The Adoption & Foster Care Clinic (AFCC) is a private, non-profit medical clinic based in Birmingham, Alabama, serving the state of Alabama as well as other states in the U.S. The mission of the AFCC is to serve the initial and ongoing medical, developmental, and emotional needs of adoptive and foster parents, their children, and their communities. Previously known as the University of Alabama at Birmingham Adoption Clinic, the AFCC has been recently incorporated as a stand-alone, non-profit, community-based clinic. The experts and healthcare staff of AFCC have a 22-year history of serving adoption and foster care families and children both domestically and internationally. Children from over 65 countries have and will continue to receive medical and mental health services.
University of Washington School of Social Work will lead the evaluation of the project. The evaluation team led by Drs. Tamarie Willis and Angelique Day will conduct a rigorous, practical and feasible program evaluation plan that will document and support the achievement of the purposes of the funding opportunity announcement and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
